The Enterprise Data Architect's role is to strategically design and implement data warehouses, data marts, and data stores while ensuring high levels of data availability for the data analytics team and for other business units. This individual is also responsible for working with the data analytics team and defining data standards and models for warehouse architectures. The Enterprise Data Architect will also assist in evaluating and selecting infrastructure components such as software, hardware, database management systems, and networking capabilities. Specific duties include assessing and cultivating long-term strategic goals for data warehousing in conjunction with the enterprise data analytics team, data users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders. The role requires collaboration with other technical staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Additionally, the Enterprise Data Architect will work with the enterprise architect and other technical staff to design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of data assets. The position also involves conducting research and making recommendations on data warehouse products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. The Enterprise Data Architect will oversee data collection and master data and database(s), working with end users to identify, create, and deliver reports according to requirements. They will design and manage data warehouse improvement and growth projects, identify inefficiencies and gaps in current data extraction and reports, and leverage solutions to ensure data standards. Furthermore, the role includes identifying data discrepancies and data quality issues, working to ensure data consistency and integrity, and monitoring system details within the data warehouse, including stored procedures and execution time, to implement efficiency improvements. The Enterprise Data Architect will also develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications on data systems, and perform other duties as assigned or directed.
