About the position

The Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for guiding technology delivery teams and business users in the implementation and use of the enterprise data architecture, patterns, and standards. This role focuses on delivering end-to-end data architecture and data models for Regulatory Reporting, collaborating with data engineers, data governance, and enterprise architects to enhance data warehouse and analytics models. The position requires strong strategic thinking, communication, and collaboration skills to advance the data strategy across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Guide technology delivery teams and business users in implementing enterprise data architecture, patterns, and standards.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data governance, and enterprise architects to enhance data warehouse and analytics data models.
  • Develop and publish data standards, definitions, and reference architecture for data platforms.
  • Oversee and validate end-to-end design for data flows, integration, and analytics for Regulatory Reporting solutions.
  • Advance data standards through the data governance operating model and provide guidance to the data governance team.
  • Oversee onboarding of projects to the enterprise data platform architecture and incorporate data governance processes.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Integrate data governance and quality controls in architecture and design for regulatory reporting solutions.
  • Identify new data types and assets to improve risk posture and insights.
  • Collaborate with teams managing data silos to leverage enterprise data assets.
  • Contribute to architecture artifacts related to enterprise data platforms.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints and document solution designs.
  • Analyze technology industry trends and their potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Facilitate evaluation and selection of software product standards and services.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience, with 5+ years in a data or platform architecture role.
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, information technology, engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Deep understanding and experience in designing and implementing solutions related to data visualization, modeling, transformation, and analytics.
  • Experience designing and deploying applications into public cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Expert in using data modeling tools such as Erwin.
  • Significant experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with Executive Level stakeholders and Engineering teams.
  • Ability to build trust and respect as a thought leader and influence business and IT leaders.
  • Objective mindset with an enterprise-first approach to technology and vendor choices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Deep understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends and their application to business models.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Cloud native Analytics and Data Management tooling, especially Azure.
  • Experience implementing or collaborating with Data Governance Practices.
  • Knowledge of different modeling languages (e.g., ArchiMate).
  • Experience delivering and operating in the Banking industry.
