About the position

The Enterprise Data Architect plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining data management strategies and architectures that support the enterprise's business processes. This position focuses on data integration, standardization, sharing, and movement, particularly through APIs and data pipelines. The architect collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure that data architecture aligns with business needs and existing systems, while also leading initiatives in the Generative AI space to drive innovation and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data management standards, policies, and guidelines.
• Design and document the data architecture based on business and system requirements, including data models/schemas and knowledge representations.
• Advocate for business requirements and architecture.
• Communicate data architecture expertise to associates during system development.
• Lead or support the design, implementation, and maintenance of data models/schemas and knowledge representations.
• Verify data model/schema designs against business and system requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder reviews on all data architecture deliverables.
• Mediate between project stakeholders.
• Apply reverse engineering techniques to document existing data stores.
• Ensure governance and quality in the definition and usage of data assets.
• Assist in developing overall project plans and timetables.
• Communicate the value of data management to the organization.
• Provide technical reviews and audits at the enterprise and system levels.
• Consult and mentor on data architecture design practices.
• Provide short and long-term data architecture strategies.
• Anticipate knowledge and information applications of data.
• Provide thought leadership and analyze technical innovations supporting business objectives.
• Stay informed on current and emerging technological trends.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field is required.
• 10+ years of experience in formulating data architectures.
• Good technical breadth with qualifications in other areas of the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to apply method-driven approaches in requirements through design.
• Knowledge of the complete software development lifecycle from concept to operational capability.
• Effective team and technical leadership skills.
• Good interpersonal skills for communication with stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional certification in data management, enterprise architecture, or related areas is highly desirable.
