About the position

The Enterprise Data Architect at McLane Company, Inc. is responsible for driving the discovery, design, and execution of a wide variety of data, analytical, and technology solutions. This role involves creating and evolving a data technology roadmap, designing end-to-end data workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with enterprise guidelines. The position is hybrid, requiring the candidate to work from the office three days a week, and is aimed at enhancing the company's data capabilities to support business needs and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create and evolve data technology roadmap to align with business needs and enterprise data strategy.
  • Design end-to-end data and analytical workflows, including overall architecture and governing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment to enterprise guidelines for security and data governance.
  • Define and improve best practices and integration with other enterprise solutions.
  • Monitor technology trends and discover new tools/capabilities of interest.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with technology vendors and external communities.
  • Lead education and training for the data and analytics community.
  • Provide leadership and strategic decision-making within technical disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in designing and implementing data architectures and analytical solutions.
  • Two or more years in designing data and analytics solution architectures and governance guidelines.
  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Talend, DataStage, Informatica) and data warehousing (e.g., Teradata, Exadata).
  • Knowledge of cloud data services (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and data modeling techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of cloud-first architecture.
  • Experience with machine learning and AI technologies.
