The Data Architect will provide leadership and own the blueprint for Stanford Health Care and School of Medicine data management and analytics. An ideal candidate is someone who has extensive experience in both cloud and on-prem data environments, with a breadth of knowledge in various types of data stores including relational, image, and object data. Experience with both transactional and warehouse data is required, and healthcare experience is preferred. The individual should possess a strong point of view on data architectures, supported by detailed technical knowledge and experience. Additionally, the Architect should have experience in AI and machine learning systems. The role encompasses analyzing and proposing architectures for data-related projects, managing data and analytics platforms, and ensuring data interoperability across Stanford Health Care and external entities. The candidate should be well-versed in data standards, regulations, and the privacy and security implications inherent in a regulated industry. In this position, the Data Architect will influence the information strategy by partnering with business unit leadership to rationalize the information value chain, thereby providing strategic recommendations to maximize the value of information assets. The role also involves fostering value creation through the organization’s data assets and the external data ecosystem, enabling business outcomes through analytics, data governance, and enterprise information policy. The Architect will assess the benefits and risks of information, enhance decision-making processes, and enable effective data and analytics governance. Furthermore, the role includes conducting business information modeling, managing risk through data classifications, and ensuring that the architecture aligns with enterprise strategies and business outcomes. The Architect will also work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer to secure data and analytic assets, and aid in improving enterprise information management performance through various information management components.
