About the position

The Enterprise Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing data architecture solutions that ensure scalability, security, and performance in cloud environments, particularly Azure. This role requires extensive experience in data management and architecture, focusing on data warehouse design and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design the overall architecture for the data warehouse solution, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Analyze current data storage and reporting systems to recommend optimal data warehouse platforms.
• Develop a comprehensive data migration plan that includes data scrubbing, transfer, storage, and reporting functionality.
• Define the data governance framework, including data quality, metadata management, and data security policies.
• Work with IT and engineering teams to implement the pilot project for migrating Planning Department's water resources data.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compatibility with the existing IT infrastructure, including Power BI and SAP Crystal Reports.
• Provide ongoing support for the data warehouse architecture post-implementation, including software upgrades and maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, and cloud-based data solutions.
• Expertise in data warehouse architecture design, especially in cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server, Power BI, and Azure Data Lake.
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data integration, and data security.
• Experience with enterprise-level migrations and implementations.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
