About the position

The Enterprise Data Engineering Manager at Western Alliance Bank is responsible for leading a team of data engineers to implement an enterprise data platform that aligns with the bank's strategic data and analytics needs. This role involves integrating data management and technology to enhance product offerings and deliver insights, particularly focusing on regulatory reporting requirements. The manager will also foster collaboration across various business units to advance the data strategy and ensure high-quality data governance and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of data engineers in implementing an enterprise data platform.
• Integrate data management and technology knowledge to develop a cross-business unit data tier.
• Build solutions for complete data lifecycle management, including data governance and quality monitoring.
• Serve as a player coach, providing management and hands-on contributions to the team's solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver enterprise data solutions.
• Champion the growth of the data engineering discipline across the IT delivery organization.
• Implement data engineering best practices and ensure adherence to architecture patterns.
• Provide resolution to production incidents related to the data platform.
• Conduct frequent coaching with individual engineers to guide their professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 8+ years' experience with data engineering, specifically in ETL concepts and processes.
• Strong to expert knowledge in Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Experience with enterprise data warehouse capabilities and database principles.
