About the position

The Enterprise Data Governance & Data Quality Lead at Datasite is responsible for providing leadership and insight into the new Data Management team focused on building Data Governance, Metadata, and Data Quality. This role involves leading initiatives to create a world-class Data Management environment, ensuring effective management of data throughout its lifecycle, and advocating for best practices in data governance and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and insight into the Data Management team building Data Governance, Metadata, and Data Quality.
  • Work with large databases and volumes of data using modern tools and technology for Governance, Metadata, and Data Quality.
  • Identify and research gaps in data, Governance, Metadata, and Data Quality.
  • Partner with cross-functional team members to support business processes, system solutions, and strategic projects.
  • Assist in managing the lifecycle of data, including reference and master data issues.
  • Make recommendations for data standards and policies, ensuring documentation and collaboration with Data Governance members.
  • Lead the development of Metadata and advocate for its use and best practices.
  • Assist with the development of Data Quality methodology and advocate for the adoption of best practices.
  • Respond to inquiries from clients (internal and external) in a timely manner.
  • Investigate, collect, and analyze data to develop improvement possibilities and metric reporting.
  • Partner with vendors to ensure Data Management tools meet requirements and are up-to-date.
  • Lead training efforts on Metadata and Data Quality.
  • Drive innovation in the Metadata and Data Quality domains, guiding remediation activities through Data Governance and Data Models.
  • Lead Data Steward and Data Quality initiatives and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate area of specialization (e.g., Business, Computer Science) preferred.
  • 7-10 years' experience analyzing and working with enterprise-level data in a Data Governance, Metadata, and/or Data Quality environment.
  • Experience leading large efforts, preferably with Data Management at its core.
  • Experience working with Data Governance, using Metadata and/or Data Quality tools.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data to identify potential issues and improvements.
  • Previous experience with tools that support Data Governance, Metadata, and/or Data Quality.
  • Experience developing and performing training activities.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, or other reporting tools.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills to make recommendations on resolution activities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
