About the position

The Enterprise Data Governance Lead at Weatherford is responsible for developing and championing an integrated data governance framework across the organization. This role focuses on policy creation, standardization, and enterprise-level adoption, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, security, and quality of enterprise data. The position collaborates with various business units, IT, and third-party partners to align on data governance policies and regulatory requirements, playing a pivotal role in advancing the company's data culture and the 'data as a product' initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the organization's data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise-wide data policies to ensure adoption, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to align data policies with regulatory and enterprise requirements.
  • Lead the Data Governance Council, facilitating meetings and ensuring effective communication.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOX) and internal policies related to data privacy and security.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to support data governance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about data governance principles and best practices.
  • Define and track KPIs & MoC's for adoption of data governance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience in IT within one or more specific technical domains, preferably Data Governance, MDM, or Analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and data governance initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, SOX, and industry standards like ISO 55001 and ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Proficiency with data governance tools (e.g., Oracle, Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and data quality solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and drive change across diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), DAMA-DMBOK, Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP) in Data Governance, Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).
  • Experience with Oracle EDQ, ODI, FAW, OAC.
  • Experience with design and deployment of Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics services.
  • Experience with data modelling and building dashboards in data visualization tools.

  • Competitive salary range of $125K - $158K per year.
