About the position

The Enterprise Data Steward role focuses on supporting the Data Governance Program for a major utility firm. The position aims to enhance data stewardship, improve data quality, ensure data security, simplify data integration, and establish better audit trails for data usage. The steward will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to identify data sets, develop data flows, and address key data issues, while also facilitating the onboarding of datasets and report certification in the Data Governance tool, Collibra.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data discovery stakeholder interviews and workshops to collect business data processes with business and IT stakeholders.
• Identify data sets, develop data flows, understand data-related processes, and identify key data issues within business areas.
• Create Data Discovery metrics & presentation.
• Onboard and operationalize Business Glossary into Collibra, the Data Governance tool.
• Facilitate business with dataset onboarding and report certification in Collibra.
• Support the Data Governance Lead to integrate data governance solutions.
• Liaison with key stakeholders on DG initiatives within their lines of business.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience in Data Governance or Data Management.
• Working experience in Data Governance or Data Management area.
• Strong knowledge of Data Governance & Quality - policies, processes, and tools.
• Strong presentation & communication skills are required.
• Advanced Excel skills, Power BI, and able to create reports / dashboards for senior leaders.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
