About the position

The Enterprise Innovation Architect at First Interstate BancSystem plays a crucial role in supporting the bank's innovation management program, known as First Interstate Innovation Labs. This position focuses on ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while facilitating agile execution of innovation initiatives. The architect collaborates with various stakeholders to identify technology-enabled opportunities that align with the bank's business strategy, supports digital transformation efforts, and leads research and development activities. The role requires building a network of third-party partners and evolving the innovation management framework to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and ongoing operation of the bank's innovation capability.
  • Create and evolve the framework to evaluate, assess, and present Proof of Concept (POC) results.
  • Evolve the innovation framework to enable incremental improvements to bank operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and agility in executing POCs.
  • Build and expand a sustainable network of third parties to understand and execute innovation opportunities.
  • Establish fusion teams responsible for idea generation and POC development and testing.
  • Develop the governance model and establish processes for innovation management as a core competency of the bank.
  • Identify business and technology-enabled innovation opportunities that drive business strategy in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop technology prototypes to demonstrate capabilities and feasibility with technology partners.
  • Support digital transformation activities across IT and business organizations.
  • Lead emerging technology evaluation and conduct R&D activities with strategic technology platform providers.
  • Assist in developing strategic technology capabilities aligned with enterprise strategies and business goals.
  • Guide the organization to focus on relevant innovation activities and initiatives.

  • Experience in innovation management and technology-enabled business transformation.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including technology partners and business units.
  • Proven experience in leading R&D activities and evaluating emerging technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creativity in developing innovative solutions.
