About the position

The Enterprise IT Operations Lead at Leidos is responsible for overseeing large-scale IT operations and migrations within a high-profile Department of Defense (DOD) contract. This role involves daily operations planning, execution, and leadership of multiple functional area managers and an operations team, ensuring the delivery of IT services and mission capabilities to DTRA's internal and external partners. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, project management, and effective communication to manage resources, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT Operations leadership and guidance for all contractor personnel assigned to DTRA I3TS related Operations and Sustainment tasks.
  • Assign tasks to contractor personnel, supervise ongoing technical efforts, and manage Task Order performance.
  • Utilize expert communication skills to direct technical resources and report on progress, issues, and problem areas.
  • Ensure quality and efficiency of Operations and Sustainment of DTRA's Network performance and growth.
  • Identify and report significant technical challenges and problems to Leidos and customer management.
  • Determine, monitor, and review project economics including costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, and risks.
  • Oversee management of IT operations, tools, and infrastructure for Tier 1 & Tier 2.
  • Lead, direct, and review the work of subcontractors supporting operations.
  • Conduct status review meetings among project team members and clients.
  • Collaborate with management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules.
  • Influence customers on project planning methodologies.
  • Control project requirements, scope, and change management issues.
  • Establish metrics for measuring key project criteria.
  • Work with internal and external groups on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Effectively communicate and manage expectations of stakeholders.
  • Provide status reporting on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, and critical path deliverables.
  • Develop trusted adviser relationships with project and program stakeholders.
  • Coach and advise team members to accomplish project goals and resolve technical or operational issues.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
  • Experience leading customer services for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS environments.
  • Experience delivering IT services for DoD organizations supporting CONUS and OCONUS customers.
  • Experience providing executive-level technical briefings to senior Government personnel.
  • ITIL Version 4 Foundation certification and one or more ITIL Practice Manager, Managing Professional, or Strategic Leader certifications.
  • One or more DoD 8140.01 certifications related to performance on this TO.
  • One technical or management certification related to the services provided within this TO (e.g., CompTIA, AWS, VMware, CISCO, etc.).
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience managing and executing IT projects.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to articulate technical messages for various audiences both in writing and verbally.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on client success.
  • Experience working with clients at all organizational levels with professionalism and business acumen.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and able to manage concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active PMP certification or equivalent experience.
