About the position

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Strategy at Verizon is responsible for enhancing risk assessment methodologies and reporting across the enterprise. This role involves developing Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRI), and risk scorecards to identify and mitigate various risks. The Senior Manager will lead initiatives to refine risk assessment frameworks, mentor team members, and collaborate with other teams to ensure effective risk management practices are in place.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine the Risk36 Risk Control Self Assessment framework.
  • Own and execute project plans for the Risk36 wave pilots.
  • Perform due diligence and FROST mapping to Talent GPS job families for Risk36 waves.
  • Mentor and coach staff team members.
  • Hold working sessions with team members and business partners to refine risk selections.
  • Support major ERM and enterprise-wide initiatives to ensure proper controls are designed and implemented.
  • Develop and design processes for Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Collaborate with the ERM BI team to leverage data analytics in reporting.
  • Lead discussions with peer ERM teams to identify synergies and collaborate on reporting.
  • Execute on time-sensitive issues and bring them to appropriate conclusions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on risks mitigated and potential impacts of unmitigated risks to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math, or Information Systems.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in operational compliance, risk management, business controls or finance.
  • Experience in developing and executing audit/test procedures.
  • Leadership and/or project management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master's degree in Business Administration.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • A Professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE).
  • Knowledge of Verizon systems, processes, and organizational structure.
  • Experience driving complex solutions and analytics for ongoing risk monitoring.
  • Experience formulating and implementing policies for a strong control environment.
  • Experience utilizing auditing principles to evaluate policies and processes.
  • Telecommunications experience.
  • Working knowledge of statistics, reporting, and analytical tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and/or Google Sheets and Google Slides.
