About the position

The Senior Manager in Enterprise Risk Transformation at EY will play a pivotal role in supporting domestic and global institutions with risk governance issues. This position focuses on enhancing risk management practices, fostering long-term client relationships, and leading teams to deliver quality client services. The role requires a deep understanding of financial risk management, particularly in the banking and capital markets, asset management, or insurance industries, and involves significant client interaction and business development.

Responsibilities

  • Support domestic and global institutions with risk governance issues including Board and management oversight, risk culture, and risk appetite.
  • Contribute to the generation of new business opportunities for operational risk management.
  • Develop long-term client relationships and understand the changing business and regulatory environment.
  • Document and communicate key risks to leadership and design controls to mitigate risks.
  • Manage and motivate teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds.
  • Deliver quality client services by monitoring progress and maintaining long-term client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field with 10 years of progressive work experience in financial risk management, or a master's degree with 8 years of experience.
  • 8 years of experience in risk management within banking and capital markets, asset management, or insurance industries.
  • 8 years of experience in risk governance including risk operating model, risk policy, appetite, or culture.
  • 8 years of experience with projects involving the design or operation of elements of the risk management life cycle.
  • 1 year of experience in Enhanced Prudential Standards, Dodd-Frank, and implications to enterprise risk governance requirements.
  • 8 years of risk management consulting experience or in a second line of defense risk management role.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in advising clients on climate and environmental risk issues at an operational and strategic level.
  • Understanding of climate-related matters and their influence on long-term value creation.
  • Knowledge of ESG frameworks and climate-related scenarios.
  • Experience in social and environmental impact measurement and valuation.
