About the position

As an Enterprise Sales Engineer at Datadog, you will leverage your technical expertise to support the sales team in articulating the value proposition of Datadog's offerings to major accounts. This role involves engaging with customers during the trial phase, addressing technical concerns, and providing product demonstrations. You will also play a crucial role in gathering customer feedback to inform product development and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Sales team to articulate the overall Datadog value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase, addressing any identified issues or concerns.
  • Technically close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge and technical skill.
  • Deliver product and technical briefings/presentations to potential clients.
  • Maintain accurate notes and feedback in CRM regarding customer input, both wins and losses.
  • Proactively engage and communicate with customers and Datadog business/technical teams regarding product feedback and competitive landscape.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate business benefits and technical advantages.
  • Experience in programming/scripting with languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.JS, PHP, and .NET.

  • Passionate about educating customers on observability risks and building evaluation plans.
  • Ability to understand and articulate both business and technical aspects of offerings.
