About the position

The Enterprise Security Solutions Architect at Charles Schwab is responsible for developing and maintaining robust security solutions across the organization. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with security standards and frameworks, while also providing leadership and guidance in the design of secure and high-performance solutions. The architect will play a key role in shaping the security architecture vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining the security architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives and security requirements.
  • Providing guidance and oversight to solution architects in designing robust, reliable, secure, and high-performance solutions that align with the enterprise architecture and security standards.
  • Conducting regular reviews of architecture artifacts, projects, and solutions to ensure compliance with architectural and security standards, policies, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated enterprise architecture leadership for security processes and programs at the strategic, blueprint, and project level, including experience with NIST-CSF, PCI, and other security frameworks.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of IT technology and trends, including cloud-based architectures, application architecture, infrastructure architecture, and security architecture.
  • Experience with performance engineering of low latency applications and educating teams on non-functional requirements to achieve web scale reliability.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and effect changes that have broad and long-term impact on the firm and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Background in consulting roles with the proven ability to work across multiple levels of the organization from developers to executive.
  • Demonstrated success and progression as a technology professional in a large commercial enterprise.
  • Ability to innovate and lead explorations into technologies and strategies, including familiarity with a broad range of industry trends.
