About the position

The Enterprise Software Architect at Extreme Reach is responsible for aligning technology and processes with the overall business strategy and value streams. This role involves designing and overseeing the implementation of scalable and maintainable software solutions that meet business goals. The architect will lead the evolution of the enterprise architecture function, ensuring compliance with governance structures and promoting the architecture process across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation or evolution of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) function.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, product owners, and agile development teams to balance enterprise information systems, data, technical, and solution architecture viewpoints.
  • Support the enterprise's business and IT strategies.
  • Identify and analyze enterprise business drivers to derive architecture requirements.
  • Analyze industry, technology, and market trends to assess their impact on the enterprise.
  • Detect critical deficiencies in the current business and IT environment and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Create governing principles to guide solution decision-making for the enterprise.
  • Develop an implementation plan for the EA based on business requirements and IT strategies.
  • Oversee EA implementation and ongoing refinement activities.
  • Consult with program/project teams to fit solutions to architecture across all viewpoints.
  • Define organizational requirements for resources, structures, and cultural changes necessary to support the EA.
  • Promote the EA process and communicate its impact to IT and business leaders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture, including components, modules, and interfaces.
  • Create design documents outlining technical specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the development team on architectural decisions.
  • Ensure software architecture complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • MS/BS in Computer Science or related background preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in IT disciplines such as technical cloud architecture, solution architecture, application development, or database management.
  • In-depth understanding of IT Service Management, Cybersecurity Operations & Compliance, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Enterprise Payroll Processing Experience is a must.
  • Experience with C# and .Net technologies; certification is a plus.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, MySQL, or similar relational databases.
  • Experience in Agile SDLC and full-stack development, particularly with Angular and AWS.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with middleware design and operations management.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
