About the position

The Software Engineer at Erias Ventures is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems that address challenging mission problems for customers. This role involves working both independently and as part of a team to ensure software components meet design requirements, conducting reviews and tests, and resolving software issues. The engineer will utilize appropriate software development methodologies and provide input on system design, including hardware/software tradeoffs and requirements analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports and ensure software quality.
• Utilize software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provide input to system design, including hardware/software tradeoffs and requirements analysis.

Requirements

• Current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required.
• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs and contracts.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional Software Engineer experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• Experience in large data set analysis, cleanup, and formatting for machine learning.
• Experience in Natural Language Processing focused on machine learning techniques for entity extraction.
• Designed and developed deep learning models and optimized machine learning processes.
• Multiple years of experience with Python and familiarity with data processing and machine learning libraries such as numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, tensorflow, and pytorch.
• Experience with large language models (LLM) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience deploying models into larger systems and monitoring real-time performance.
• Familiarity with docker, GitHub/gitlab, and Jira.
