About the position

The Enterprise Solution Architect will play a crucial role within the Solution Development Department, focusing on driving and reviewing strategic initiatives and architecture standards for the Health System. This position is responsible for architecting comprehensive solutions that align with business requirements and partnering with various stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. The role encompasses evaluating solutions, making buy vs. build decisions, and providing consulting throughout the solution development lifecycle, emphasizing both new initiatives and enterprise technology strategy consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Drive solutions architecture to meet the technology needs of business initiatives.
  • Design and support complex applications for use at the relevant hospital organizations.
  • Develop documentation to effectively communicate and analyze the information flow related to the delivery of quality applications.
  • Work with business stakeholders to identify business opportunities and develop initial business cases for potential solution development efforts.
  • Assist manager, change management team, and support teams to progress environments and code across environments.
  • Coordinate test plans and identify issues of the application prior to implementation in a production environment.
  • Identify project risks and provide resolutions to understand and implement solution integration points.
  • Develop high-level solution designs and conceptual architectures that address business, application, information, and technology architectural domains.
  • Participate in the conceptual phases of identifying and solving business problems and initiatives.
  • Actively participate in change management processes at application and departmental levels.
  • Assist with upgrades, installations, and project planning in coordination with system users and vendors.
  • Monitor all assigned systems and document performance, reacting to degradation of service through coordination with affected departments.
  • Achieve results personally and through others, particularly related to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Coordinate, accomplish, or supervise the activities of a project team in system development tasks.
  • Support development and achievement of departmental goals and initiatives in a positive manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in full development life cycle and significant experience in delivering applications and architecture services in a production environment.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and basic understanding of databases, interfaces, networks, and hardware.
  • Expert programming skills required.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgment in stressful situations.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of staff inside and outside of IT.
  • Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into application features.
  • Dedication to a positive attitude and strong customer service support.
  • Ability to convey technical knowledge in both written and verbal format.
