About the position

The Enterprise Systems Analyst for Academic & Student Solutions at the University of Detroit Mercy plays a crucial role in enhancing the University's Ellucian Banner ERP system and third-party solutions. This full-time position involves a variety of responsibilities including the analysis, development, programming, testing, and maintenance of software and interfaces that support the ERP system. The analyst will assess complex issues, create and maintain reports, evaluate business processes and rules, and provide technical assistance to the user community. In this role, the analyst will define business requirements and develop solutions by consulting with the user community and external entities. They will create and document technical strategies to support the development of solutions that align with the University's enterprise system. Data management and reporting are key components of the job, requiring the development of data sets and reports on University data. The analyst will also be responsible for creating and maintaining Oracle procedures and packages, as well as job scheduling. Additionally, the analyst will gather requirements and create or maintain crosswalks to bridge data from other sources to current reporting systems. Developing user-friendly report dashboards and ensuring data integrity by diagnosing system and data issues are also essential duties. The position requires providing functional and technical support for the Banner ERP system and third-party applications, along with performing other duties as assigned or requested.

Responsibilities

  • Define business requirements and develop business solutions; consult with the user community and external entities to define business requirements; create and document technical strategies to support the development of solutions in support of the University's enterprise system.
  • Data management and reporting through the development of data sets and report on University data.
  • Create and maintain Oracle procedures and packages, as well as job scheduling.
  • Gather requirements and create/maintain crosswalks to bridge data from other sources to current reporting systems.
  • Develop user-friendly report dashboards.
  • Ensure data integrity; diagnose system and data issues.
  • Provide functional and technical support for the Banner ERP system and third-party applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of three years related experience; relational databases, advanced SQL programming skills, and business intelligence tools; experience with Banner, Oracle procedures and packages, Argos, and ISE EnterpriseSCHEDULE preferred.
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner software, report-writing tools, and other database solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including customer service and an ability to express oneself in an open, honest, and professional manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn and apply new software and strive to consistently achieve excellence in all tasks and goals.
