The Program Coordinator for Independent Living (IL) and Assisted Living (AL) plays a crucial role in creating and leading engaging programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about caring for others and have a strong work ethic. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of activities and events that are adult-centric, relevant, elevated, and purposeful. The role involves developing a balanced monthly program calendar that includes cultural, intellectual, spiritual, social, physical, and recreational opportunities. The Program Coordinator will also be tasked with procuring groups, organizations, and individuals to perform for or instruct the residents, ensuring that the activities are diverse and engaging. A key aspect of this position is to actively influence and encourage residents to participate in activities through positive relationships and personalized interactions. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will assist the Director of Entertainment & Programming in providing medical transportation to residents, as well as organizing innovative outings and excursions. This role requires a proactive approach to resident engagement and a commitment to enhancing the overall resident experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall support to the department in planning, coordinating, and implementing adult-centric activities and events.
  • Assist in the development of the monthly program calendar to ensure a balanced offering of cultural, intellectual, spiritual, social, physical, and recreational opportunities.
  • Procure groups, organizations, and individuals to perform for or instruct the residents.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities through positive relationships and personalized interactions.
  • Assist the Director, Entertainment & Programming in providing medical transportation to residents within community guidelines.
  • Organize innovative and interesting outings and excursions for residents.
  • Assist residents in entering and exiting community vehicles.

Requirements

  • A big smile, eagerness to learn, open mind, and desire to create a wonderful lifestyle for residents.
  • Previous relevant experience as a Programming Coordinator (Activities) preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient in the use of Internet resources and current technology.
  • Valid driver's license and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • At least 21 years of age with 3 years of driving experience.
