Entertainment Rigger/Stage Hand

About the position

As an Entertainment Rigger and Stage Hand at Disney Cruise Line, you will play a crucial role in the execution of Broadway/West End style musical theater productions. Your responsibilities will include moving and spotting stage scenic elements, conducting performer harness checks, and managing flying hook-ups during various entertainment events across the ship. You will collaborate with the Automation Operator to maintain shipwide automation and rigging systems, ensuring they are in good repair and properly utilized for outdoor deck parties and shows. This position requires a commitment to safety and teamwork in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Move and spot stage scenic elements during Broadway/West End style musical theater productions.
• Conduct performer harness checks and manage flying hook-ups during entertainment events shipwide.
• Partner with Automation Operator to maintain shipwide automation and rigging systems.
• Train in all outdoor rigging positions to safely operate during shows.
• Contribute to the Walt Disney Theater Team with responsibilities for load in and load outs, cast changeovers, new show installations, equipment tests, vendor support, movie premiers, and company events.

Requirements

• Minimum three years show production experience in a similar role.
• Experience or qualifications in a theatrical/entertainment-based rigging operation.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, electric motors, motor drives and controls, manual and automated rigging devices.
• Experience with the operation of computerized automation control equipment.
• Ability to work at heights and with heavy equipment.
