About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Manager to join our team at the Ballantyne. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks to assist the Area Director of Finance with the financial operations to ensure the security of assets of the company in a centralized environment. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles and strong analytical skills to ensure accurate financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will manage receivables, payables, credit, payroll, and cash handling functions within the accounting department. This role involves preparing financial analysis of hotel operations, including variance explanations, and making recommendations to achieve financial goals and targets. The successful candidate will develop and implement financial control procedures and systems, ensuring compliance with the “Internal Control Checkup,” maintaining documents for audits of hotel accounts, and ensuring compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will direct the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and reporting. This position also includes hiring, training, and providing career development for subordinates, conducting performance evaluations, and providing feedback to employees. The Accounting Manager will respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction. Maintaining a professional image at all times through appearance and dress is essential, as is following company policies and procedures and effectively communicating them to subordinates. The role also requires ensuring the hotel is in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour, and Health laws. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 1-2 years work experience in the accounting field.
  • 4-year degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
  • Strong accounting skills.
  • Computer aptitude.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Planning and organizational ability.
