About the position

System One is seeking Entry-Level/Junior CAD Technicians to work on the latest state-of-the-art facilities across a wide variety of markets, including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, power, and the public sector. This position is ideal for candidates who are eager to develop their skills in architectural drafting and design, particularly using advanced CAD software. The role involves collaborating closely with lead engineers and designers to create both 3D and 2D design drawings for mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines. Candidates will be expected to coordinate with other designers and engineers to ensure that design criteria are met and to resolve any issues that may arise during the drafting process. In this role, you will utilize Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks to produce high-quality design drawings. You will also be responsible for developing 2D general arrangement drawings for industrial facilities. The position requires a strong understanding of computer-aided drafting software and the ability to communicate effectively with team members. Field/site visits may be required, and candidates should be prepared for an estimated travel time of 10%. This is a contract-to-hire position, providing an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those with limited experience to gain valuable industry exposure and grow their careers in architectural drafting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D and 2D design drawings for mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines in collaboration with lead engineers or designers.
  • Create 2D general arrangement drawings for industrial facilities.
  • Evaluate and resolve design problems by reviewing multiple sources of information and coordinating with other designers and engineers.
  • Utilize Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks for drafting and design tasks.
  • Perform field/site visits as required to gather information and ensure design accuracy.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Autodesk Revit CAD Software.
  • 0-2 years' experience on industrial, manufacturing, or similar type projects.
  • Ability to coordinate with lead engineers or designers to develop design drawings.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform field/site visits.
  • Willingness to travel (estimated travel time is 10%).
