About the position

The Life Sciences team at GBA is seeking entry-level Architectural/Mechanical Engineers to join our headquarters office in Lenexa, Kansas. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that serves many of the world's top 20 bio-pharma companies. The Life Sciences group is an integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, project managers, and construction managers, all dedicated to delivering high-quality projects in the life sciences sector. As an entry-level engineer, you will be involved in various project assignments that include designing manufacturing facilities, research facilities, clean rooms, R&D/QA labs, and pilot plants. You will work closely with senior staff to design mechanical systems that are crucial for pharmaceutical, industrial, warehouse, and office facilities. Responsibilities

  • Design various mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, steam, hot water, and compressed air
  • Prepare construction documents for various mechanical systems
  • Review shop drawings and RFIs
  • Verification of permitting and code requirements
  • Assist with facility evaluation and engineering studies
  • Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning

Requirements

  • BS in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering
  • 0 - 2 years of experience, including internship experience
  • Adept at working on fast-paced projects
  • REVIT proficiency
  • Organizational skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Interest in working in a collaborative team environment
