About the position

Amazon is seeking dynamic leaders to manage large non-exempt teams within our innovative fulfillment network. This is a full-time role situated in one of our fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations, or other operational buildings, rather than a traditional corporate office environment. As an Area Manager, you will be at the forefront of our commitment to customer satisfaction, ensuring that your team effectively delivers customer orders on time. This position offers a unique opportunity to invest in team members and cultivate a collaborative leadership style while leveraging the tools and processes that have established Amazon as the most customer-centric company globally. Fulfillment, in the context of Amazon, refers to the entire process of completing a customer's order, which includes picking, packing, shipping, and delivering products to meet or exceed customer expectations. The workflow in our operations can be categorized into three main phases: the first mile, where products are stored and ready for orders; the second mile, where orders are transported to the designated area; and the last mile, which involves delivering the product to the customer's doorstep. While there may be variations in building layouts, our unwavering vision and dedication to customer service remain constant. It is important to note that our fulfillment centers are fast-paced environments where standing, walking, and engaging in conversations on the production floor are common as you lead your team visibly. This position is not confined to a specific corporate role; instead, it is interactive and requires you to be on your feet for the majority of your shift, working closely with your team. Although the role is tied to a specific city, placement opportunities are available nationwide, meaning you will be assigned to an operations building that aligns with your location preferences and current availability after the interview process. Candidates must be willing to relocate upon hire, and relocation benefits are provided to eligible candidates.
