About the position
The Entry Level Avionics Trainee position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft systems. Under the supervision of experienced technicians, trainees will learn about Gulfstream aircraft and internal procedures, while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of customer aircraft under direct supervision.
- Gain experience in various Gulfstream aircraft systems including airframe structural, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, landing gear, and flight controls.
- Utilize technical reference resources to identify correct part numbers, procedures, and materials.
- Coordinate with the Inspection department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
- Complete parts change sheets, work order sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ensure work meets FAA requirements, customer specifications, and Gulfstream quality standards.
- Properly identify and store customer property and equipment to prevent damage.
- Safely operate ground support equipment such as hydraulic mules and forklifts.
- Assist Line Service with the movement and servicing of aircraft.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience with civil or military aircraft avionics systems and/or installation is helpful.
- Strong mechanical aptitude is essential.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Nice-to-haves
- Enrollment in an Airframe & Powerplant license program preferred.
