About the position

Modjeski and Masters, Inc. is seeking entry-level Structural Bridge Design Engineers to support transportation project pursuits across the U.S. and abroad. This role involves working on a variety of challenging bridge engineering projects, performing engineering tasks under supervision, and interacting directly with clients. The position offers opportunities for mentorship and professional growth in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and check standard structural design calculations.
• Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.
• Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
• Provide information for design reports.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction service assignments.
• Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
• Review and check drawings.
• Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
• Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.

Requirements

• A minimum of a B.S. degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
• E.I.T preferred but not required.
