About the position
Ahern, a leading mechanical and fire protection contractor, is seeking an entry-level CAD Designer for its Menomonie, WI office. This role offers an opportunity to develop design skills while contributing to various fire protection sprinkler system projects. The position emphasizes attention to detail and collaboration with a Sales Project Manager to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
- Design automatic sprinkler systems using HydraCAD and AutoSprink.
- Conduct on-site field surveys for project planning.
- Generate hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems.
- Submit drawings to obtain necessary building permits.
- Coordinate 3D BIM using NavisWorks.
- Prepare stock lists for project materials.
- Ensure projects adhere to proposed timelines.
- Prepare project close-out, operation, and maintenance documents.
Requirements
- Degree in a design/drafting-related program.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Mathematically and technically inclined to learn industry-specific software and codes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
