The Entry Level Chemist position at Thermo Fisher Scientific involves conducting complex analyses and routine sample preparation in a laboratory setting. The role is essential for measuring pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). The chemist will work under general supervision, contributing to the accuracy and quality of laboratory results that impact patient health globally.

  • Conduct complex analysis and routine sample preparation under general supervision.
  • Quantitatively measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in various formulations and biological matrices.
  • Train on the operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Review and compile results and data against SOP acceptance criteria and product specifications.
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook and complete all documentation accurately according to SOP and GLPs.
  • Communicate project status to the project leader and perform self and peer reviews of data for accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent formal academic/vocational qualification.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and analytical chemistry techniques.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, Gas Chromatography, and Mass Spectrometry preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Experience in clinical trials or laboratory settings.
  • Familiarity with regulatory authority guidelines and ICH guidelines.
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
