About the position

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a motivated and driven Entry Level Civil Design Engineer in Training to join our team in Myrtle Beach, SC. This position is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those with some experience in civil engineering to develop their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Project Manager and will be responsible for preparing site development construction drawings, engineering design considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure, and permit applications associated with residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with local regulations. As an Entry Level Civil Design Engineer in Training, you will gain hands-on experience in the field of civil engineering, utilizing software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create detailed designs and plans. Responsibilities

• Prepare site development construction drawings.
• Design engineering considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure.
• Complete permit applications for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software for design tasks.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and other team members to ensure project success.
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering.
• EIT Certification or the ability to receive EIT certification within 6 months.
• Experience using AutoCAD is required; experience with Civil 3D is preferred.
• Previous internship in a related field is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work a regular schedule of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Mon-Thurs and 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM Fri.
• Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow effectively.
• Client service-oriented, self-starter, and team player.
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
