About the position

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a motivated and driven Entry Level Civil Engineer in Training to join our team in Greenville, SC, with an intended start date in Summer 2025. In this role, you will work under the direction of a Project Manager and will be responsible for preparing site development construction drawings, engineering design considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure, and permit applications associated with residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and a passion for delivering high-quality work. Experience using AutoCAD is required, while familiarity with Civil 3D software is preferred. Responsibilities

  • Prepare site development construction drawings
  • Develop engineering design considerations for water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure
  • Complete permit applications for residential, commercial, and industrial projects
  • Collaborate with Project Manager and team members on various projects
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software for design tasks
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workflow effectively

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain EIT certification within 6 months
  • Experience using AutoCAD is required
  • Experience using Civil 3D software is preferred
  • Previous internship in a related field is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a regular schedule of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Mon-Thurs and 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM Fri
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Client service-oriented, self-starter, and team player
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
