About the position

Wade Trim is seeking an Entry Level Engineer to join our Infrastructure and Civil Engineering (ICE) Team in the Dallas/Fort Worth office. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about improving infrastructure and have a strong foundation in engineering principles. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering and have between 0 to 6 years of experience in designing natural gas projects. Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and CADWorks is preferred, as these tools will be essential in executing the responsibilities of the role. In this role, you will be involved in various aspects of project design and management. Typical responsibilities include designing natural gas transmission and distribution projects, which encompass pipelines, meter stations, and other related facilities. You will prepare design reports and construction plans in accordance with client specifications and applicable local, state, or federal standards. Additionally, you will coordinate the preparation of specifications and permit submittals, prepare preliminary project cost estimates, and evaluate quantities. Documenting design changes and maintaining effective communication with clients and team members will be crucial to your success. You will also conduct on-site observations as needed, prepare project status reports, assist in proposal preparation, and support Project Managers in various tasks. Participation in client, public, and project meetings is expected, as well as maintaining excellent client relations and ensuring a safe working environment. The position offers a flexible hybrid-remote work schedule after 30 days of employment, allowing for a balance between in-office collaboration and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Design various natural gas transmission and distribution projects, including pipeline, meter stations, and other facilities.
  • Prepare design reports and construction plans using client, local, state or other applicable standards.
  • Coordinate preparation of specifications and permit submittals.
  • Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
  • Document design changes and communications.
  • Conduct on-site observations as needed.
  • Prepare project status and other reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals.
  • Assist Project Managers as needed.
  • Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes.
  • Maintain excellent client relations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 0 to 6 years of experience designing natural gas projects.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and CADWorks preferred.
  • Self-motivated with excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to natural gas projects.
