About the position

VHB's South Burlington, VT office is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our team. This position provides an opportunity to work on our diverse portfolio of energy, water resources, and land development projects. As an entry-level civil engineer, you will work within an integrated team of engineers, environmental scientists, and landscape architects in developing engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of public and private infrastructure projects with a focus on sustainability and resiliency. You will be involved in civil engineering for ski resort, urban development, renewable energy, and municipal infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing associated plans and reports and permit applications, ensuring that all work aligns with the project goals and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities

  • Work within an integrated team of engineers, environmental scientists, and landscape architects in developing engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of public and private infrastructure projects with a focus on sustainability and resiliency.
  • Civil engineering for ski resort, urban development, renewable energy, and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Preparing associated plans and reports and permit applications.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 0-1 years of professional civil engineering experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently as well as on a team
  • Ability to work in an office or virtual environment
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and committed
  • Critical thinking and problem solving

Nice-to-haves

  • AutoCAD experience
  • HydroCAD experience
  • StormCAD experience
  • Experience with GIS systems
