About the position

LJB Engineering is a national, multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm that specializes in various business lines including Transportation, Water Resources, Geospatial and Site Design, Buildings Structure Design, and Safety/Fall Protection Design/Installation. The firm has a diverse expertise and client base, allowing it to serve clients across all 50 U.S. states and several countries. We are currently seeking a full-time Entry Level Civil Engineer who embodies a can-do attitude, takes pride in their work, and possesses a passion for engineering. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with a willingness to collaborate, while also being capable of working independently. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing all aspects of municipal and private engineering projects. This includes working on sanitary sewers, storm sewers, stormwater design, site plans, and minor roadway projects. The candidate will utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs that conform to client requirements and company standards. Close collaboration with project managers will be essential to complete a variety of site civil design tasks, and coordination with survey crews will also be a key responsibility. The candidate must maintain a strong working knowledge of the client's standards and be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities and conditions. Strong written and oral communication skills are crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design all aspects of municipal and private engineering projects including sanitary sewers, storm sewers, stormwater design, site plans, and minor roadway projects.
  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs in conformance with client requirements and company standards.
  • Work closely with project managers to complete a variety of site civil design tasks.
  • Coordinate with survey crews.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the client's standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) certification required; PE (Professional Engineer) preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
