About the position

Wade Trim is seeking an Entry Level Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our Community Design Team in Fort Worth, TX. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about improving infrastructure and have a strong foundation in civil or environmental engineering. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and have between zero to four years of related experience. This role offers a flexible hybrid-remote work schedule after 90 days of employment, allowing for a balance between in-office collaboration and remote work. As an Entry Level Engineer, you will be involved in a variety of projects that may include the design of water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, roads, bridges, open drains, pedestrian pathways, parks, and other utility infrastructure improvements. You will be responsible for performing evaluations, preparing design reports, and developing construction plans in accordance with local and state standards. Additionally, you will review and interpret plans and specifications, assist with technical specifications and permit submittals, and support Project Managers in reviewing project scope, budget, and schedules. The position requires excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to self-monitor task budgets and progress. You will also conduct on-site inspections and field evaluations as needed, prepare project status reports, and maintain excellent client relations. Responsibilities

  • Design civil projects including water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, roads, bridges, open drains, pedestrian pathways, and parks.
  • Perform evaluations and prepare design reports including opinion of construction costs.
  • Develop construction plans using local and state standards.
  • Review and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Prepare and assist with technical specifications and permit submittals.
  • Assist Project Managers with review of scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.
  • Self-monitor task budgets and progress.
  • Document design changes and communications.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and field evaluations as needed for design purposes.
  • Prepare project status reports, technical memorandums, and other written correspondence.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and scope of work.
  • Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings.
  • Maintain excellent client relations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
  • 0 to 4 years of related experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
