We are looking for an Entry Level Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our Community Design Team to improve infrastructure in Michigan offices. This position is ideal for candidates who possess a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and have zero to four years of related experience. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment, allowing for a balance between in-office collaboration and remote work. Typical responsibilities for this role include designing civil projects that may encompass water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, roads, bridges, open drains, pedestrian pathways, parks, and utility/miscellaneous infrastructure improvement designs. The engineer will perform evaluations and prepare design reports, including opinions of construction costs, and develop construction plans using local and state standards. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications, preparing and assisting with technical specifications and permit submittals, and assisting Project Managers with the review of scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks. The engineer will also be responsible for self-monitoring task budgets and progress, documenting design changes and communications, conducting on-site inspections and field evaluations as needed for design purposes, and preparing project status reports, technical memorandums, and other written correspondence. The role requires attending client, public, project, and staff meetings, maintaining excellent client relations, and ensuring a safe working environment. This position is a great opportunity for recent graduates looking to start their careers in civil or environmental engineering and contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects.
