About the position

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer to support our vision of becoming the best water consulting firm. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and a self-starter, playing a key role in the design of municipal water and wastewater facilities. This includes treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and linear infrastructure rehabilitation and replacement. Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering work in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure
  • Work on engineering planning and design projects
  • Prepare reports
  • Develop plans and specifications
  • Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects
  • Conduct system modeling
  • Perform permitting and alternatives analysis
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables
  • Conduct data entry and analysis
  • Provide engineering services during construction
  • Participate in field activities such as pilot testing, construction phase observations, and design phase field measurements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental or other similar Engineering field
  • Minimum academic requirements include coursework in physical, chemical, and biological processes; hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design
  • 0 to 4 years of directly-relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training Certification
  • Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Familiarity with computer applications including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and water and sewer hydraulic calculations/modeling software (WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM)
