About the position

As a Civil Project Engineer at Actalent, you will play a crucial role in assisting our civil engineering team with the development and design of land development projects. This position encompasses a variety of tasks including drafting, design calculations, project analysis, and report writing, along with various administrative responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through field Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections and will actively participate in client meetings and site inspections, providing you with a well-rounded experience in civil engineering practices. In this role, you will be expected to assist in the development and design of land development projects, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary standards and regulations. You will perform drafting and design calculations using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, which are essential tools in the civil engineering field. Your ability to conduct thorough project analysis and prepare detailed reports will be vital in communicating project progress and findings to stakeholders. Additionally, you will support the project manager by assisting with reports, client activities, and various administrative tasks. Your participation in client meetings and civil site inspections will enhance your understanding of project requirements and client expectations, allowing you to contribute effectively to the success of each project.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and design of land development projects.
  • Perform drafting and design calculations using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Conduct project analysis and prepare detailed reports.
  • Participate in field DOT inspections as needed.
  • Support the project manager with reports, client activities, and administrative tasks.
  • Attend client meetings and perform civil site inspections.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of roadway design, storm and sanitary drainage design, water line design, and/or site design is preferred.
  • Understanding of municipal engineering standards and processes is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to assist project managers.
