About the position

POWER Engineers is currently seeking an Entry-Level Civil/Structural Engineer to join its Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department in Richmond, VA. This position offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to engage in all aspects of transmission line design, including the development of new lines, relocations, upgrades, and the integration of fiber optic additions. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of overhead transmission lines for new projects, relocations, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop engineering solutions that meet client needs.
  • Utilize engineering software for design and drafting tasks.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation related to project specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an accredited university.
  • Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum 2.75 Grade Point Average (GPA).
  • Coursework in structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying.
  • Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially in civil and/or structural engineering.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) registration is desired.
  • Familiarity with design, drafting, or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
