About the position

As an Entry Level Collections Representative at TEKsystems, you will be working in a dynamic call center environment focused on early-stage collections. This role involves making outbound calls using an auto-dialer and receiving inbound calls from members who are 1-30 days late on their payments. The primary goal is to assist members in resolving their outstanding accounts before they progress to mid-stage or late-stage collections, which could negatively impact their credit scores. You will be expected to handle a high volume of calls, typically ranging from 80 to over 120 calls per day, while providing empathetic support and effective problem-solving to help members navigate their financial situations. In this position, you will need to demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate effectively with members. The role is competitive, and we are looking for individuals who are determined to succeed and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be trained to use multiple systems and will be expected to meet performance metrics that track your effectiveness in collecting outstanding accounts. The department regularly sends out reports to rank counselors based on their collection performance, allowing you to see how you compare to your peers. Training for this position consists of a comprehensive four-week program that includes both virtual and classroom instruction, followed by four weeks of NEST training. The initial training will take place Monday through Friday, with the first three days on-site and the remaining training conducted in a hybrid format. After training, you will continue to develop your skills under the guidance of the leadership team during the NEST training phase, which is designed to provide you with exposure to the role without overwhelming you with responsibilities right away. The work schedule for this position includes Monday through Saturday, with hours from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It is essential that you are available to work all Saturdays, with a day off during the week when you do so. The position also offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule, requiring you to be on-site two days per week, although full on-site work during training is an option.
