As an Entry Level Cultivation Laborer at Eighty East, you will have the opportunity to grow your career in the cannabis industry with a local business dedicated to making premium cannabis products accessible, affordable, and equitable for all. Eighty East is a minority-owned, fully vertical cannabis organization that is committed to bringing positive change to Sacramento. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our cultivation facility located in south Sacramento. No prior cannabis or growing experience is necessary, as we are committed to training our employees and providing opportunities for advancement. In this position, you will be responsible for various tasks that ensure the proper care and maintenance of our plants. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ensuring that plants are properly labeled and tagged, feeding and pruning plants, checking irrigation systems and troubleshooting any issues, moving plants from one location to another, and performing necessary upkeep and maintenance at the facility, which includes basic cleaning and organizing of supplies. This role may require prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs in temperatures of up to 85°F. We are looking for individuals who can work well with others, follow company policies, and maintain a positive attitude while working with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Ensure plants are properly labeled/tagged.
- Properly feed and prune plants.
- Check irrigation systems and troubleshoot issues.
- Move plants from one location to another.
- Perform necessary upkeep and maintenance at the facility, including basic cleaning and organizing of supplies.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
- Ability to follow all required company policies.
- Experience in agriculture, farming, or related fields is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge and experience with farm machinery are beneficial.
