As a cybersecurity analyst, you will assess and analyze cybersecurity documentation for client information systems, ensuring compliance with FISMA, NIST RMF for Federal Civilian Agencies, RMF for DoD IT, FedRAMP, and departmental standards. Your expertise will be crucial in performing system and network vulnerability scanning and analysis using both automated tools and manual techniques. You will work on technical assessments utilizing industry-standard tools such as Nessus, DB Protect, WebInspect, and ACAS, among others. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and applying vulnerability remediations, fix procedures, and mitigation techniques as necessary. You will also lead compliance-related and technical discussions, leveraging your expert understanding of applicable compliance frameworks, architectures, and security control requirements. Your ability to inform customers about resolving cybersecurity issues and concerns will be essential, as will your skill in explaining how compliance with various standards and frameworks is achieved. This position requires a strong technical background, with experience in security engineering, secure architecture development, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, applied cryptography, and application security. You will need to be self-motivated, capable of working independently or as part of a client delivery team, and able to author original content, reports, and attestations. Exceptional organizational, planning, and attention to detail skills are necessary to thrive in this fast-paced, deadline-driven, remote environment. Additionally, you should be prepared for travel requirements of up to 25% for various client engagements, as this role may necessitate on-site assessments and consultations.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze cyber security documentation for client information systems in accordance with FISMA, NIST RMF for Federal Civilian Agencies, RMF for DoD IT, FedRAMP, and departmental standards.
  • Perform system/network vulnerability scanning and analysis using both automated tools and manual techniques.
  • Conduct technical assessments using standard industry tools such as Nessus, DB Protect, WebInspect, and ACAS.
  • Identify and apply vulnerability remediations, fix procedures, and mitigation techniques as necessary.
  • Lead compliance-related and technical discussions, demonstrating expert understanding of applicable compliance frameworks and security control requirements.
  • Inform customers to resolve cybersecurity issues and concerns and explain compliance with various standards and frameworks.
  • Participate in formal assessment activities to identify and mitigate cyber security risks.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain an active SECRET Security Clearance.
  • 1+ years of experience in performing and/or participating in FISMA based security Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities.
  • Basic knowledge of Cloud Computing and FedRAMP.
  • Basic knowledge of FISMA, NIST/DoD RMF, and NIST SP 800-series publications.
  • Beginner knowledge of testing tools such as Nessus/ACAS, SCC, DISA STIGs / STIG Viewer, etc.
  • Strong technical background in security engineering, secure architecture development, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, applied cryptography, and application security.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, remote environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional security assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks beyond FISMA and FedRAMP.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud security best practices.
