Year Up is a one-year or less, intensive job training program designed to provide young adults with essential skills for the workforce. The program focuses on in-classroom skill development, access to internships, and job placement services, along with personalized coaching and mentorship. Participants in the Year Up program also receive an educational stipend, which supports their learning journey. The curriculum combines both technical and professional training, ensuring that participants are well-prepared for the demands of the job market. Internships are a critical component of the program, with opportunities available at leading organizations such as BNY Mellon, Fidelity, and Bank of America, among others in the New York-New Jersey area. This hands-on experience allows participants to apply their skills in real-world settings, enhancing their employability upon completion of the program. To be eligible for Year Up, applicants must be between 18-29 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, be eligible to work in the U.S., and be available Monday through Friday throughout the program's duration. The program is tailored for individuals who are highly motivated to learn and have not yet obtained a Bachelor's degree. Participants will gain professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking skills, and resume building assistance, all of which are crucial for launching a successful career. Additionally, some coursework may be eligible for college credit, further enhancing the educational value of the program. During the internship phase, students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week, providing financial support while they gain valuable work experience. The program has a strong track record, with 80% of graduates employed or enrolled in postsecondary education within four months of graduation, and employed graduates earning an average starting salary of $53,000 per year.
