About the position

WSP is seeking an Entry-Level Draftsperson to join their US Mine Waste Civil Design and Drafting Team. This role involves providing technical design and CADD support for various projects, focusing on civil design, earthworks, and infrastructure. The position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in a supportive environment while contributing to projects that meet client objectives and solve challenges in the mining sector.

Responsibilities

• Modify and develop drawing packages primarily in civil design, including complex earthworks and mining designs.
• Provide quality control of drafting and design plans related to company CADD standards.
• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from physical work sites and technical drawings.
• Use 3D CADD software to assist with basic design details and prepare precise drawings.
• Provide entry-level technical design assistance ensuring compliance with design specifications.
• Assist with verifying calculations, design changes, and interpreting contract plans.
• Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements for dimensions, materials, and procedures.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• 0-2 years' experience in Civil drafting support.
• Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD 2023 and Civil 3D 2023 or newer.
• General awareness of drafting and design support principles and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and office automation tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety policies.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements.
