About the position

Actalent is looking for an Entry Level Driller Helper to join their geotechnical drilling team. This role involves assisting the lead driller in various tasks related to soil boring, sampling, and monitoring well installations. The position is primarily outdoor work, requiring physical strength and a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driller in the field with soil boring and soil sampling.
• Monitor well installations and rock coring activities.
• Hand write report findings based on fieldwork.
• Collect and sort field samples for laboratory analysis.
• Replace drill augers and perform additional duties as directed by the lead driller.

Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift specialized equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Experience or willingness to assist with soil borings, soil sampling, and rock coring.
• Ability to monitor well installations and report findings accurately.
• Basic skills in collecting and sorting field samples for lab analysis.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
