About the position

The Entry Level Driller Helper position at Actalent involves assisting a Geotechnical Drilling Crew Leader on various drilling projects. The role is primarily focused on learning and performing tasks related to geotechnical drilling, including soil boring, sampling, and monitoring well installations. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy outdoor work and are eager to gain hands-on experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driller in the field with soil boring and soil sampling.
• Monitor well installations and perform rock coring.
• Handwrite report findings and collect field samples for the lab.
• Replace drill augers and perform additional duties as directed by the lead driller.
• Travel approximately 25% of the year throughout the state of Kansas.

Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift specialized equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Experience assisting with soil borings, soil sampling, and rock coring.
• Ability to monitor well installations and report findings.
• Skills in collecting and sorting field samples for laboratory analysis.
