About the position

The Electrical Engineer - Level 1 position at FTI involves performing basic electrical power, lighting, and low voltage system engineering tasks for electrical construction projects. This role is under the direct supervision of an upper-level Engineer, Senior Electrical Designer, or Engineering Team Leader. The position emphasizes employee growth through training and development, the use of advanced technologies, and a strong focus on safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and studies technical drawings and electrical specifications to ensure installations and designs conform to standards and customer requirements.
• Conducts field surveys and studies diagrams and other data to identify and correct power system problems.
• Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Performs detailed calculations to compute and establish construction standards and specifications, with direction from an upper-level Engineer.
• Plans layout of electrical construction projects with direction from an upper-level Engineer.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering - Electrical, or Associate Degree in Electrical Technology.
• 4 years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
• Proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit is required.
• Knowledge of electrical terminology and symbols is required.
• Knowledge of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) is necessary.
