About the position

As an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer at Sargent & Lundy, you will have the opportunity to apply and enhance your academic knowledge in Electrical Engineering. This role involves working on project teams to design high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems, as well as preparing specifications for major electrical power equipment procurement and installation services. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for flexibility in remote work while also requiring in-office presence three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Work on project teams with other electrical engineers to design new high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
• Involved in power transmission designs and preparation of specifications for procurement of major electrical power equipment.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or MSEE) from an ABET-accredited program.
• Strong academic background with coursework in electrical power concepts and AC power systems analysis.
• Understanding of practical application of electrical engineering and technology in project design.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and designation as an Engineer in Training.
• Related engineering internship or co-op work experience.
