About The Position

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a self-motivated Entry Level Field Geologist to join their Private Sector Business Unit in Boise, ID. This role is ideal for candidates with 0-5 years of experience who are eager to work in a professional consulting environment. The selected candidate will receive mentorship from experienced staff while contributing to various environmental and water resources projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science required.
• 0-5 years of experience in a related field.
• Strong organizational and results-oriented skills.
• Ability to work in the field year-round and perform physically demanding work.
• Excellent technical writing capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience with MS Project, MS Access, CADD, ArcGIS, and/or boring log software (such as gINT).
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and/or MSHA training.

Responsibilities

• Provide field and office support on environmental services and water resources projects.
• Perform field data collection and documentation related to site investigations.
• Observe drilling operations and assist in the installation of water wells or soil borings.
• Conduct lithological logging and various field tests and measurements of soil, air, surface water, and groundwater properties.
• Assist with technical evaluations for planning, design, and permitting related to water supply and environmental restoration.
• Prepare and interpret boring logs, cross-sections, contour maps, and site maps.
• Draft technical memoranda, reports, and design documents.
• Coordinate field efforts and assist with the development of work plans and health and safety plans.
